Like me, my youngest daughter is dyslexic.

 

One day, she came home from school visibly upset after struggling with a maths assignment. She asked why her brain was different, why she struggled when others did not. I told her that being dyslexic isn’t a weakness; it’s a different way of thinking, and often, a powerful strength. Some of the world’s most creative and successful people are dyslexic.

 

I wanted to show her that there are no limits to our creativity or potential. So, we sat down together and began writing a story about a monkey that was no ordinary monkey, a protector for kids when the lights go out.

 

Seeing her energy and passion for the story we wrote more stories and started to design the monkeys ourselves. It wasn’t long before I decided to get one made for her. Now we would like to share weremonkeys with you.
